Who is responsible for your information
Sam The IT Man is responsible for the personal information described here. For a privacy question or request, contact Sam directly by email. Please do not send identity documents or other sensitive information unless Sam has first explained why they are needed and how to send them safely.
What the website collects
A help, quote or contact enquiry can include your name, contact details, preferred contact method, postcode or area, customer status, the service or solution you selected, timing preferences and the description you provide. The website also processes limited connection and security data needed to deliver and protect the service. Do not include passwords, authentication codes, recovery codes, payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information.
Why the information is used
Enquiry details are used to understand your request, reply, prepare a possible quote or service, prevent misuse and keep an appropriate business record. Depending on the situation, the lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, performing an agreed contract, complying with a legal obligation, or the legitimate interests of answering genuine enquiries and protecting the website. Information is not sold and is not used for unrelated advertising.
Who processes it
The website hosting and security platform processes the technical requests needed to serve and protect each page. When the enquiry form is enabled, Resend processes the form emails and the business email provider delivers them to Sam's mailbox. Resend states that its email data is retained for 30 days and that account, email, log and API data is stored in the United States regardless of the selected sending region. Provider terms and transfer safeguards are reviewed as part of the production account configuration. If a provider changes, this notice must be updated.
Security and privacy-conscious logs
The website applies field limits, server-side validation, a hidden spam trap and distributed request throttling. Application events use a request or reference identifier, enquiry type, outcome and timing; they do not add message text, names, email addresses, phone numbers or raw IP addresses. Hosting and network providers necessarily process connection data such as an IP address to deliver and secure the service.
How long information is kept
An unfinished enquiry draft stays only in your browser, excludes contact details and is automatically removed after seven days. Short-lived, one-way rate-limit identifiers expire after ten minutes and are pruned. The transactional email provider states that it retains email data for 30 days. An enquiry that does not become work is normally deleted within 12 months of the last meaningful contact, and sooner when it is no longer needed. If an enquiry becomes a customer job, relevant records may be kept longer where needed to provide the service, meet legal or tax duties, or handle a dispute. Retention is reviewed at least annually.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, a portable copy, or object to certain uses. You may also complain. Sam may need to confirm your identity and may have to retain information where the law requires it. Privacy requests are handled without charge unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
No accounts, profiling or optional tracking
The current website has no customer accounts, file uploads, online payments, advertising tracker or automated decision-making. Optional analytics remains disabled unless a specific measurement purpose, appropriate configuration and any required consent experience are approved first.
Questions or complaints
Contact Sam first so the concern can be investigated and a practical response provided. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you remain concerned about how your information has been used.
